Pasport of the region


The Novgorod region is located in the North-West of the Russian (East-European) plain, approximately 190 km south-east of St. Petersburg. The region runs 385 km from west to east and 250 km from north to south, bordering the Pskov, Tver, Leningrad and Vologda regions.

The Novgorod region occupies 55,3 thousand km2 and has a population of 613 000 people.

The region has advantageous geographical location between Moscow and St Petersburg. The main rail and roadways run through its territory, connecting Moscow and St Petersburg to the Baltic Sea Region countries and Scandinavia. The region is located in close proximity to ports, airports and customs terminals.
